DeAndre Jordan had a “Shaqtin’ A Fool” moment which cost the Clippers the game

The Portland Trailblazers were in LA last night to play the Los Angeles Clippers.

Damian Lillard finished the night with 5 points, shooting 1 of 13, and 4 assists with a career high of 18 rebounds. Lillard’s one and only field goal came in overtime on a beautiful lop from Nicolas Batum. While Chris Paul had 36 points and 12 assists. Obviously Paul won the point guard battle, but the Blazers won the game in overtime 98-93.

With 4:11 minutes left in the game, Portland’s head coach Terry Stotts went to hack of Jordan which went successful because Jordan missed all six free throws, and in the 90 seconds he was on the bench, the Blazers went on a 7-0 run cutting the deficit to three.

Batum nailed a 3 point shot tying and forcing the game into overtime, overcoming a 10-point deficit with less than three minutes left in regulation. Batum was the game MVP finishing with 20 points, shooting 4 of 8 beyond the arc, 7 rebounds, 8 assist, and 2 blocks.

With 2.5 seconds left in the game, and a 1.8 shot clock, Paul slid into the lane for the potential game winning shot that rolled around the rim and missed the lay-up. Jordan missed the easiest game winning tip, confusing the shot clock being the game clock.

LaMarcus Aldridge added 29 points and nine rebounds.
Blazers shot 39.1% and the Clippers shot 38.5%.

Blake Griffin, Matt Barnes, and Jamal Crawford did not play for LA.

The Portland Trailblazers ended the game with a 23-8 run.
The LA Clippers won the two previous match-ups and will meet again on April 1in Oregon.
