A Promise Kept

God is good! His love never fails. The hardest part about being a believer is patience. See, we know God can and will provide, and he will deliver, but we must trust his plans even when we don’t understand them because God works in mysterious ways.

I woke up May 1st, and was like “is this for real, or is this a dream?” Picture1Naw, it really happened. He really did it, and now I’m a Patriots fan. Cre’von turned his lifelong dream into a reality, and now he works for the NFL.

It was sad to not hear his name called, and I know he was sad as well. After the fifth round, I went to go check in on him and asked him if he ate. I knew he wouldn’t miss out on those baked beans and ribs. He said he ate and was fine, but I knew he was worried. Worried to see if once again, he was forgotten about, if he was once again looked down upon, or if once again he would be robbed of his opportunity. Cre’von had to prove himself all of his life and nothing came easy for this young man. So it’s only right that he has to silence the critics and embarrass the doubters.

His mom, Mrs. Lawanda, is a true believer. She said that him not getting drafted will make him work harder, this makes him want it more. Now he has a bigger chip on his shoulder. He has more to prove. This is just adding fuel to the fire.

He watched the draft this year-like he does every year- and even though his name wasn’t called like we all anticipated, he did get that one phone call he needed. Now, he just needs the playbook.

Now it’s up to him to prove that his size doesn’t matter. He will show and prove to them that he is made to be in the league.

We can’t wait to hear “touchdown Cre’von Leblanc.” It’s time for everyone to know his name.  This is his time.

He may not realize it now, but he gives me strength and hope to continue pursuing my dreams. All the FAU players do. I know the dream is possible through hard work, dedication, and faith. I just have to keep perfecting my craft.

They already made it to the next level, and now it’s my turn.

You been so good, you been so good, I love you lord. I thank you lord.
